Joel Charleston started studying with AMT in 1969. He was the Company’s Stage Manager for several years. For decades and until the present time, he has acted as lawyer for Paul Curtis and AMT. Joel created the not-for-profit corporation American Mime Theatre, Inc. in 1970.

Joel is a seasoned attorney based in North Woodmere, New York, with over 40 years of legal experience. He graduated from Duke University School of Law. Throughout his career, he has focused on real estate law and litigation, serving clients in personal injury, small-business matters, and other legal areas. He is admitted to practice before multiple courts, including those in New York.

Robert Simpson

Vice President and Secretary

Robert (“Bob”) Simpson studied with Paul Curtis at AMT from 1969-1973. He was Paul’s lifelong and lawyer and served as Executor of Paul’s estate. He moved from New York to Paris in 1973, but has attended AMT classes in NYC over decades. He organized AMT classes and seminars for Paul in Paris and also taught AMT in France.

Bob is an international lawyer with extensive experience in international contracts, entertainment law and finance. Bob earned his law degree from Duke University School of Law, and was admitted to the New York Bar in 1970. He later became an Avocat à la Cour d'Appel de Paris. Bob was an Associate Professor at the University of Toulouse and co-founder of the Association Leonardo, which connected thousands of startups with investors.

Stuart (“Stu”) Margulis has been the accountant for Paul Curtis and AMT for many years.

Stu is the President of SFM Management Ltd., a tax advisory and business management firm he founded in 1970. With over five decades of experience, he specializes in tax advisory services and business management. Stu is an Enrolled Agent (EA), Accredited Tax Advisor (ATA), and Accredited Business Accountant (ABA). He holds memberships in several professional organizations, including the National Society of Accountants, National Association of Enrolled Agents, New York Society of Independent Accountants, New York State Society of Enrolled Agents, and the National Conference of CPA Practitioners.

SFM Management Ltd. offers a wide range of services, catering to both individuals and medium-sized corporations. Their specialties include retirement planning, business consulting, investments, estates and trusts, personal financial planning, tax planning and preparation, and bookkeeping. The firm is dedicated to providing personalized solutions, leveraging seasoned expertise to achieve optimal results, and maintaining trusted partnerships with clients.

Peter Klein

Peter Klein studied with Paul Curtis at AMT and was Paul’s close friend and financial advisor.

Peter is the Chief Investment Officer and Founder of ALINE Wealth, a wealth management firm based in New York. He also serves as the President of the Claire Friedlander Family Foundation, reflecting his deep commitment to philanthropy.

Peter holds a Baccalaureate degree in economics from Stony Brook University and a master's degree in finance from CUNY Baruch College. He has earned several professional designations, including Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®), Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS®), Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®), and Chartered SRI Counselor (CSRIC®).

Throughout his career, Peter has been recognized for his expertise and dedication. He was named to Forbes' list of the Best-In-State Wealth Advisors in New York from 2020 to 2023.

Additionally, he received the Community Impact Award by Long Island Business News' 2021 Corporate Citizenship Awards. His practice was also featured on Wealth Management's inaugural Thrive Awards list of fastest-growing financial advisors in 2019.

Peter is the author of two books: "Getting Started in Security Analysis" (Wiley, 1998, 2009) and "A Passion for Giving: Tools and Inspiration for Creating a Charitable Foundation" (co-authored with Angelica Berrie, Wiley, 2012).

Beyond his professional endeavors, Peter is actively involved in various philanthropic activities, serving in leadership positions on boards and committees of numerous not-for-profit organizations.

Catherine Klein

Catherine Klein studied with Paul Curtis at AMT. She was also an AMT Company Member and Teacher of American Mime. She has been actively involved with various theatrical companies over the years.
